If student engagement matters, the survey should be engaging too.

Evaluation Station turns student voice from boring surveys into a colourful, science-inspired experience that primary learners actually want to use — while giving teachers useful patterns they can reflect on.

The contradiction

If engagement matters, why are we using boring surveys?

We talk about student engagement, learner agency, relationships, student voice, and reflective teaching. Approaches such as Impact Coaching and the RBL Profile reinforce the importance of listening carefully to what students are experiencing.

But there is a strange contradiction in the way we often collect that voice. If we say engagement matters, why are we asking children to give us their feedback through boring surveys and adult-style forms? Evaluation Station is designed to change that.

For students

Feedback that feels like a game — not school admin

Instead of feeling like another piece of school admin, giving feedback becomes something children actually want to do. Students enter a colourful, science-inspired world filled with glowing potions, bubbly meters, animated scales, expressive characters, fun face packs, playful sounds, and interactive feedback tools.

  • Show whether they enjoyed the lesson
  • Say whether learning was too easy, just right, or too hard
  • Share whether they learned something new and whether the lesson made them think
  • Type ideas, record their voice, or use Ninja Mode for anonymous feedback
What students can share

Voice, choice, and playful tools

Enjoyment & challenge

Rate how much they enjoyed the lesson and whether the learning felt too easy, just right, or too hard.

Learning & thinking

Share whether they learned something new and whether the lesson made them think.

Their own words

Type ideas or record their voice — whatever feels right for the moment.

Ninja Mode

Give anonymous feedback when the teacher allows it — honest voice without the spotlight.

For teachers

Patterns that help you reflect — not judge

Behind all the fun is something much more powerful. Every response becomes useful information for the teacher. A single evaluation can show how one lesson landed. Repeated feedback can begin to reveal patterns over time.

  • Are students regularly saying the learning is too difficult?
  • Is engagement dropping, or are students enjoying lessons but not feeling challenged?
  • Are particular subjects working better than others?
  • Are students learning a lot even when the work feels difficult?
Practises what we preach

Evaluation Station delivers engaging student voice.

The aim is not to judge teachers or reduce teaching to a score. It is to give teachers access to the lived experience of the children sitting in front of them — and to make the process of collecting that voice as engaging as the learning itself.
