Why Progress Reports Matter
Understanding how your child is progressing helps you provide the right support at the right time. LearnSpace progress reports give you a clear picture of what your tamariki are learning, where they are doing well, and where they might benefit from extra encouragement.
Where to Find Progress Reports
- Log in to your LearnSpace parent account.
- Select the child profile you want to review.
- Go to the Progress tab on their dashboard.
Each app — MyFeedback Pro, Word Wand, and Monster Maths Lab — has its own progress section, so you can see how your child is tracking across reading, writing, and maths.
What the Reports Show
Activity Summary
This section shows how often and for how long your child has used each app. Regular, short sessions are generally more effective than occasional long ones, so look for consistency rather than total hours.
Skills and Strands
Progress is broken down by curriculum-aligned skills and strands. For example, in Monster Maths Lab you might see separate progress for number knowledge, addition, and fractions. In Word Wand, you will see reading fluency and comprehension indicators.
Strengths and Areas for Growth
LearnSpace highlights areas where your child is performing well and areas where they may need more practice. This is not a report card — it is a guide to help you understand where your support can have the most impact.
Trends Over Time
Progress reports include trend information so you can see improvement over weeks and months. Small, steady gains are a great sign, even if your child has not yet reached a particular milestone.
How to Use the Reports
Celebrate Achievements
Share what you see with your tamariki. Acknowledging their effort — not just results — builds motivation and resilience.
Identify Focus Areas
If the report shows a particular area needs attention, use that as a guide for your home learning routine. For example, if fractions are flagged, you might spend a few extra minutes on those problems in Monster Maths Lab.
Talk to Your Child's Kaiako
If your child's kura also uses LearnSpace, progress reports can be a useful conversation starter at parent-teacher meetings. Kaiako may have additional context and suggestions.
Keeping Things Positive
Progress reports are a tool for support, not pressure. Every child learns at their own pace, and the goal is steady growth over time. Use the reports to guide conversations and celebrate the learning journey together.
