Planning Your Rollout

Deploying LearnSpace apps across your entire kura is most effective when planned in stages. This guide covers how to activate, assign, and manage MyFeedback Pro, Word Wand, and Monster Maths Lab for all year groups.

Understanding the Apps

MyFeedback Pro

A writing feedback tool that helps tamariki improve their writing through targeted, curriculum-aligned suggestions. Suitable for Years 3–8.

Word Wand

A reading companion that supports decoding, comprehension, and vocabulary development. Designed for Years 1–6.

Monster Maths Lab

An engaging maths practice app covering number, measurement, and statistics strands of the NZ Curriculum. Built for Years 1–8.

Step-by-Step Deployment

1. Review Your Plan

Ensure your kura's plan includes the apps you wish to deploy. All three apps are available on every plan tier, but usage limits may vary. Check your plan details under Settings > Billing.

2. Assign Apps to Year Groups

Navigate to Apps > Manage in your admin dashboard. For each app, select the year groups that should have access. You can assign apps to individual classes or entire year groups.

3. Notify Kaiako

Before activating apps for tamariki, let your kaiako know what is coming. Share a brief overview of each app and how it fits into your school's learning programmes. LearnSpace provides printable quick-start guides you can distribute to staff.

4. Activate for Tamariki

Once kaiako are prepared, activate the apps. Tamariki will see the assigned apps on their dashboard the next time they log in. If your kura uses SSO, students can access LearnSpace with their existing school credentials.

5. Monitor Usage

Use the Analytics dashboard to track app usage across your kura. You can view data by class, year group, or individual learner. This helps identify which classes are actively using the tools and where additional support may be needed.

Tips for a Successful Rollout

  • Start with one app — if your kura is new to LearnSpace, begin with a single app and expand once kaiako are confident
  • Nominate a champion — identify a lead kaiako in each syndicate to support colleagues during the rollout
  • Involve whānau — let families know about the apps and how they support learning at home
  • Review after a term — assess usage data and gather kaiako feedback to refine your approach
