How School Signup Works

Getting Started with LearnSpace

Setting up your kura on LearnSpace takes just a few minutes. This guide walks school administrators through signup, linking your school, and starting billing.

Before You Begin

You will need:

• Your school name and MOE number (from the NZ schools directory)
• A school email address (e.g. admin@yourschool.school.nz)
• An estimate of your current roll size
• The name of the person setting up the account

Step-by-Step Signup

1. Visit the Schools Portal

Head to the LearnSpace website and select Schools from the top navigation. Use the pricing slider to estimate your roll, then click Start trial or Sign up.

2. Create Your Admin Account

Choose School admin or Teacher, enter your details, and select your kura from the NZ schools directory (or enter a join code for teachers). You must use a school email address that matches your kura's domain (e.g. admin@yourschool.school.nz).

If you need to use a personal or non-school email, you can still sign up — your account will be held for LearnSpace admin approval before you receive staff access.

3. Set Up Billing

After sign-in, open Billing from the sidebar footer. You will be prompted to:

• Set your roll — use the slider; your MoE roll may pre-fill if your school is linked
• Choose annual or monthly billing
• Start a trial, subscribe by card, or request invoice billing

Trial terms are shown before you begin (free or paid, depending on current platform settings).

4. Invite Your Team

Once billing is underway, invite kaiako from My Staff in the school portal. Teachers on your kura plan get full app access through the school subscription.

What Happens Next

• Trialing — all linked kaiako and school admins get app access for the trial period
• Subscribed (card) — manage payment and renewal from Billing via the Stripe customer portal
• Invoice requested — our team reviews your request and activates your subscription after procurement is confirmed
