Our Commitment to Privacy

At LearnSpace NZ, the safety and privacy of tamariki, whānau, and kaiako is our highest priority. We are a New Zealand-based team, and we design every part of our platform with the privacy expectations of Aotearoa New Zealand families and kura in mind.

How We Protect Your Data

Encryption

All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. This means your information is protected whether it is being sent between your device and our servers, or stored in our databases.

  • In transit: We use TLS 1.2 or higher for all connections.
  • At rest: All stored data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption.

Access Controls

Only authorised LearnSpace staff can access personal data, and only when it is necessary for support or system maintenance. All access is logged and audited.

NZ Privacy Act Compliance

LearnSpace NZ is fully compliant with the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand). This means:

  • We collect only the information we need to provide our services.
  • You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information at any time.
  • We will notify you promptly if a privacy breach occurs that poses a risk of harm.
  • We do not sell or share your data with third-party advertisers.

Your Rights

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. To make a request, contact our support team — see contacting support.

Data Residency

We store data on servers located within the Australia/New Zealand region to minimise latency and ensure your information stays close to home. We do not transfer personal data outside of this region without your explicit consent.

Data Retention

When an account is cancelled, we retain tamariki progress data and reports for 90 days before permanent deletion. Active accounts are retained for as long as the subscription is active. For more on what happens when you cancel, see cancel or change your plan.
