Understanding App Access

Learn how school administrators control which LearnSpace apps teachers and staff can access, and what to do if an app is unavailable.

How App Access Works

LearnSpace apps appear in My Apps (for kaiako) or My Apps (for kura admins). Which apps you see depends on:

  • Your plan — Family, Classroom, and school plans include different app bundles
  • School settings — kura administrators can control which apps are enabled for their school
  • Account status — active subscriptions show all included apps; expired trials may limit access

For Teachers and Whānau

If you expect to see an app but it is missing or locked:

  1. Check that your subscription is active in Settings → Billing
  2. If you are part of a kura, ask your school administrator whether the app is enabled school-wide
  3. Try signing out and back in

Individual kaiako and whānau on personal plans generally have access to all apps included in their plan tier.

For School Administrators

School admins manage app rollout from the School dashboard and My Apps:

  1. Enable apps you want available to your kaiako
  2. Invite staff so they can access enabled apps from their dashboards
  3. Use adoption reports to track usage

  • Your account email
  • The app name
  • Whether you are on a personal or school plan
